At an altitude of 1,400 feet, the Pwll Du Adventure Centre is situated amidst
spectacular scenery on
the
Blorenge Upland. The valley falls steeply away at the
rear of the centre giving a magnificent view of the Sugar Loaf to the north,
across the valley of the River Usk. The Brecon to Monmouth Canal, which circles
the lower slopes to the north of the Centre is of particular interest. The
Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are only a few miles away. The vicinity of
the Centre is steeped in history with the local coal and iron mines.
